What do we mean by fragility?
Fragility makes some older people weaker and more vulnerable. Many people will age without becoming frail, while others will face frailty.
Here are a few examples of fragility:
- Involuntary weight loss
- Reduced muscle strength
- A constant feeling of fatigue and exhaustion
- Slowing down walking speed
- Low levels of physical activity
- What you can do
First and foremost, frailty is an early warning sign of poorer health as we age.
A sign of a more serious problem or incapacity.
To have a good old age and good fortune, you have to see it through early in life:
- Physical exercise
- Improving diet
- Early detection of chronic diseases
- Good medication management
